Educate Yourself, Ask a Question
I’ve been living back home in Alaska for 18 months. When I left Portland I was deeply embittered with every aspect of Portland except its cheap drinks.
I’ve been back for visiting and for work five times since then.
I can honestly this is the first time being in the city that I’m not being washed by hurt, rage, and deep distrust as I move about the city.
It’s not waves now, but I’m still wet.
So this happened. Just another reason why I don’t participate in gay “pride” celebrations. Fuck this. Thank you so much for your sensitive portrayal that isn’t racist nor completely objectifying or fetish-sizing. UGH!
i honestly hate living in portland
like theee ONE good thing about being here besides my family is that the native center is awesome but i havent even had time to be there at all because im constantly looking for work or at my half-job and i was volunteering there like 3-4 times a week so ugh ugh ugh
i feel you that’s why i moved back home to alaska. did we ever meet in portland? i volunteered both at NASCC and NAYA.
only people who truly love portland without conditions are white people, especially white LGBT people.
This was taken at MRS Rave to Grave in Portland, OR April 14th, 2012. No one did a damn thing about this person in Black face and War paint. This is further evidence that PDX Queer community is focused on whiteness. Not a single non-POC called this person out. Not only that, this photo was taken by their photobooth photographer and posted onto their facebook. Check it out here. If you live in PDX and are Queer, please help bringing this to their attention and demand accountability.
TUMBLR: what would you say when I have white people trying to tell me that this isn’t racist?
Drank far too many cocktails at Portland’s Bartini. I think this drink (the one pictured) called Bird of Paradise and the lavender martini were my favorite. I ate too much sushi and ordered too many drinks. Oh well.
Oh my. First B-day hanging over (I will be celebrating my b-day from now til June 10th). Four Bartini cocktails, sweet tea vodka, and “Asian” long island ice tea. This might be more of a sugar hang over then anything else.
I am also suffering from a hang over that has resulted in waking up multiple times for water and passing back out. It’s been rough but it was delicious! I am also going to be celebrating my birthday until the 10th of June. I don’t even want to count my days. ugh.
Oh look! It’s the Portland Benson Bubblers (I swear they are called this). I see this sight a lot in the hot Portland summers.
“ It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light and winter in the shade. ”
