Educate Yourself, Ask a Question
Anonymous asked: Re: The Obama dog meat “scandal” the GOP are trying to overshadow Mitt’s animal cruelty with… Obama ate dog meat in Indonesia as a small CHILD, and Mitt strapped his dog on top of a car for 12 hours as a grown-ass ADULT. It’s ridiculous that conservatives are trying to hold a 7-year-old to the same moral standards as a grown man with a family, but what else is new with the GOP?
President Obama is a black man. He’s been held to the same standard as grown ass white men since the day he was born.

“ Women are not a monolithic block, they are not an interest group and you should not be treated as such. ”
President Obama speaking to Women’s Economics Conference at the White House. April 2012
“They claim that I’m violent, just cause I refuse to be silent”
This is for all the masculine presenting people of color in my life. xoxo
… lets just talk about this for a god damn second. This photo here is a classic example of how the education system of America has fucking failed us. While Lincoln may have signed the Emancipation Proclamation, he did not give a fuck about black people (just like George Bush… good call Kanye)
His official statement regarding it was: ” I will say, then, that I am not, nor ever have been in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races… I as much as any other man am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race>”
Also, same day he signed the Emancipation Proclamation, he hung 200 Native Americans.
…. how’s that for your historical “anti-racist”?
Another Proclamation - Sherman Alexie
that, one year earlier, in 1862, he’d signed and approved the order for the largest public execution in the United States History? Who did they execute? “Mulatto, mixed-bloods, and Indians.”
Why did they execute them? “For uprising against the State and her citizens.” Where did they execute them? Mankato, Minnesota. How did they execute them? Well, Abraham Lincoln thought it was good.
simultaneously. Yes, in front of a large and cheering crowd, thirty-eight Indians dropped to their deaths. Yes, thirty-eight necks snapped. But before they died, thirty-eight Indians sang their death songs. Can you imagine the cacophony of thirty-eight different death songs? But wait, one Indian was pardoned at the last minute, so only thirty-seven Indians had to sing their death songs. But, O, O, O, O, can you imagine the cacophony of that one survivor’s mourning song? If he taught you the words, do you think you would sing along?”
“ I will not soon forget that President Obama was at a $7,500 a plate fundraiser in San Francisco while Occupy protesters were being gassed and clubbed right across the bay in Oakland. I plan to keep that image etched in my mind as the 2012 Presidential campaign unfolds. ”

White kids? I need y’all to listen.
We are not all Troy Davis.
This would not happen to us.
No, cork it and let that settle in for a second. This would not happen to us in this country and in this “justice” system and in this white supremacist culture that lets us think it’s the appropriate progressive response to stomp our feet about Not! Being! Racist! at this or any moment. Save your stories of unjustly accused white people, this is not the same at all. You mourn this man and you mourn the rotted soul of a nation that can allow this exact pattern of violence to carry through centuries, but do not for a second think it makes any sort of sense to co-opt this moment.
We are not all Troy Davis.
This would not happen to us.”
“ Unfortunately for supporters of Davis, Obama is in his second bid for president, which means that any call for justice for an African American would trigger a racial backlash from some voters, particularly those of the Fox-News, fear-mongering persuasion. And given the tough and divisive first term he has had, the chances that President Obama will stick his neck out for a fellow minority is close to zero. Like it or not, this is a cold reminder of how little effect a Black man in the White House has had on ending or even addressing the very real applications of systemic racism and injustices, which is manifested on a daily basis in society at large. ”
a quote from the Atlanta Post on Obama’s silence in connection with the extremely questionable execution of Troy Davis that will take place at 7pm tonight in Atlanta, Georgia. (via bohemianarthouse)
Just got an email from Amnesty saying that the clemency for Troy Davis was denied! Wow! No Justice! No Peace! That’s crazy! I wish I could make it down to rally in GA for him..but I’m definitely going to Michaels to get a white shirt and make a shirt for the innocent brotha that is sentenced to…
I’m sitting here at work holding the tears in. This is effed up. Seriously. Post racial my tail. There is no justice in this world. They would rather kill us then set us free. Jesus help us.
Jesus help them. I hope they realize we aren’t going to take this shit sitting down much longer. The anger in my chest is something I have never felt before. I will not be able to sit in class tomorrow night knowing that “MY” government is purposefully killing a brother of mine.
I honestly don’t emotionally respond to many things that happen politically in this country but I am witnessing a lynching.
This is a 2011 lynching. They wanna dress it up by saying it’s the death penalty. It is a fancy, gov’t sanctioned lynching of a innocent black man. They just want black blood because a cop got killed.
I can’t believe that you would kill an innocent man just because he is black and in the wrong place at the wrong time. I don’t understand why our humanity is continually denied. Everywhere. I don’t understand why you could hate a race so much that you would kill them for no reason.
I should understand. I know black history. But right now I don’t. Maybe I never did.
This makes me think of my father. My Uncles. My boyfriend. My brother. This could be them. They could be in the wrong place in the wrong time and some white people could blame them for something they didn’t do.
To be black is a dangerous thing. I talk a lot about what it is to be a black woman. But we have to remember, that being a black man can cost you your life.
My heart is breaking.
This. All of this. I cannot handle this. I’ve been on the verge of tears all day. I literally do not know what to do with myself. This is not my country.
I’ll repeat it so y’all get it:
This is nothing more than a drug-out, modern day lynching using the guise of justice for Cracker von Cop. You wanna know why we’d rather deal with shit outside of the legal system? Because cops will pull any old shit out of their ass to fuck us. ANY old shit.
Keep that in mind as you go throughout your days, white people. Keep in mind that your entire life, your money, your job, your house, your car, your private schools, your gym memberships, your pool boys and maids, your expensive plastic surgeries and your body mods…
Realize that they come off our backs. Everything you have, you needed us to get there. And like you all did in the old days, you plan to keep us poor, starving and uneducated, three things that mean death in this society. The deaths might be slower and involve more paperwork, but the goal is the same. You just created this shit as a fancy schmancy way to get us off your land after YOU brought us here.
And if you wanna say that you, personally, didn’t do this? Unless you’re fighting it, you’re getting the benefit. You’re getting the job that the ex-con can’t get anymore for selling a few dime bags that you know you sold too and got away with. You’re making that extra money since you all make more, BOTH men AND women, so don’t pull no shit about how women still make less. Only motherfuckers white women make less than is white men, and the rest of us really don’t give a shit about your 20 cents. Your family’s money and education was passed down through the years to you and allowed YOU to benefit as well…all on the backs of your black mammies. All the opportunities opened to you are at the distinct exclusion of us, regardless of qualifications. What you can achieve with a high school diploma, some of us can’t achieve with a Masters, and that’s where your dollar bills come from, whitey-o.
Racism don’t exist?
Whiteness doesn’t work as a construct that ALL of you, down to the last fair, porcelain toilet-skinned baybee, benefit from while ignoring who you trampled on to get there?
7 of 9 Witnesses say my Brother is Innocent. Stop Troy Davis’ Execution on September 21st.
WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT
My brother, Troy Davis, has been on Georgia’s death row for 20 years despite strong evidence of his innocence. His execution date is now scheduled for Wed, Sept 21. He has a hearing in front of the GA Board of Pardons & Parole two days beforehand. We need to tell the Board strongly and clearly: There’s too much doubt to execute Troy Davis!
The case against my brother Troy consisted entirely of witness testimony which contained inconsistencies even at the time of the trial. Since then, seven out of nine witnesses from the trial have recanted or contradicted their testimony.
Many of these witnesses have stated in sworn affidavits that they were pressured or coerced by police into testifying or signing statements against Troy Davis. Here is what one had to say:
“I got tired of them harassing me, and they made it clear that the only way they would leave me alone is if I told them what they wanted to hear. I told them that Troy told me he did it, but it wasn’t true.”
We need to tell the Board strongly and clearly: There’s too much doubt to execute Troy Davis!
just to reiterate
Seven out of nine witnesses from the trial have recanted or contradicted their testimony. (though according to the gif it’s 6 out of 8)
Many of these witnesses have stated in sworn affidavits that they were pressured or coerced by police into testifying or signing statements against Troy Davis.
also they never found a murder weapon, DNA or fingerprints linking him to the crime and THEY LET THE GODDAMN ALTERNATE SUSPECT TESTIFY AGAINST HIM.
